Fire Poo Dallas is this Monday and we got a chance to catch up with both the co hosts for the event. Read more to see what NVS and Fishr Pryce had to say about the upcoming first ever Dallas Poo and more.
Fire Poo: So first, let’s start with DJ names. What the does NVS even stand for?
NVS: Its actually “envious” shortened. It started as a joke when I would get mad that someone played a record I couldn’t find or didnt have. My friends would say I was jealous. Then they started saying “envious”. No one really knew why, but still called me that. So I just shortened it.
Fire Poo: What’s behind the name Fishr Pryce and have you run into any copyright issues?
Fishr Pryce: When I first started I would stay in the bedroom and make practice mixes, so that I could listen to them and see where I needed work. (think I heard Q Bert say to do that) when I made the first one I was happy with I made a copy to let my friend hear. As a joke I wrote Fisher Price: My First Mix Tape like the old toys. It stuck, as for Copyright; I keep sending the toy company cease and desist letters, but they continue to act all Zuckerberg about it.
Fire Poo: What are both your thoughts on Fire Poo?
Fishr Pryce: I think it’s the greatest thing to happen to DJing since the Airhorn, I mean who can beat a night of beer wings and kicking it with like minded nerds?
NVS: I think it’s awesome. DJs just hanging out and shooting the shit. No egos, no business. Just DJs, wings and beer.
Fire Poo: NVS – I read that you were DJed a Girls Gone Wild Party. How many boobs total do you think you saw that day and what was that gig like?
NVS: I dj’d more than one. Unfortunately, all the nudity happened on the bus.. I saw no boobs at those parties. They kept me hidden away from all the boobs. Which was probably a good idea!
Fire Poo: Fishr Pryce – When I went to do some research on you, some guy from Canada came up. DJ Fisher Pryce is called Toronto’s turntable assassin. Have you heard him? Do you think you could whoop him in a battle?
Fishr Pryce: Are you trying to bait me into talking trash? Good Job cause I will hahahha I will murder that dude any day my defense is impregnable praise be Allah. Who came up more in the google search?
Fire Poo: How did it feel from being best of homies and making mixcds together to hating each other and battling for the Dallas Red Bull 3style battle title? Give us some details of that day and what it felt like to be in the Red Bull Battle.
Fishr Pryce: It was a little awkward going into the battle while we were having personal issues, but I think it helped us fall back in love with each other’s faces. The 3Style night was amazing I went into that day determined to win because I was unhappy with placing 2nd the previous year.
NVS: I still hate Fishr! But we seem I work well together on mixes. Him coming from a hip hop background and me coming from a dance background, we always seem to figure out how to make them come together well. The The3style was fun, and very nerve wracking. I had a set prepared but as I was making edits at 5am the morning of the battle, I completely changed it. Never even got a chance to practice it. I knew Fishr was gonna come with it, especially after he placed 2nd the year before. I’m glad he won it. Even though I wanted to kill him so I could take his place.
Fire Poo: Will Fire Poo Dallas be an awesome event or will it just be you two and Cheapshot doing a circle jerk or…both?
NVS: Well, I think it’s gonna be a little of column A and a little of column B. There will be a circle jerk, it’s expected with Cheapshot around. But we have confirmation from DJs in Austin, Houston and even Memphis!
Fishr Pryce: Fire Poo Dallas will be filled with DJs watching us 3 jerking it. We have gotten confirmation of DJs from Austin Houston, and Memphis.
Fire Poo: Have you guys had the wings at The Boiler Room yet? Can you give us a preview of what we can expect?
Fishr Pryce: Boiler Room wings taste like the heaven’s bung hole. They are that tasty!
NVS: I tried them before, and to quote our buddy Mes, “it’s like Jesus having sex in your mouth”
